I am interested in botany and horticulture (specifically selective plant breeding, carnivorous plants, and convergent evolution). I also enjoy exploring topics related to geography, geology, and climate change.
I am formally educated in International Relations, having focused on the history of US foreign policy in Latin America and elsewhere. I am especially interested in the impact of the Drug War and other transnational crime on human rights, civil society, and human and economic development.
I am fluent in English and Spanish. I have lived in the Mid-Atlantic of the United States as well as the West Coast of Mexico. I have traveled extensively throughout Meso-America and the Hispanic Caribbean. I have also traveled for pleasure throughout Western and Southern Europe.
