DURO threads is a street wear apparel company and was originally founded in New York on June 22, 2012 by Can Aykanat. The company has headquarters currently located in Long Island, NY. The brand is well known for its mantra, which is currently to inspire the working class of America to achieve their ambitions through relentless hard work and self-motivation. Duro when translated from Spanish means "hard", or slang for "tough" or "resilient". The logo embodies a dollar sign entwined within a heart-shaped symbol, signifying our love of money and the means to achieve it.

The DURO brand incorporates a unique style influenced by New York’s defining hip-hop and skateboarding scene. However, it was first inspired by the urban street culture of the working class in Long Island, NY. DURO Threads means to personify the love of money and personal drive through a simple and explicit symbol that is incorporated into each of its designs.

History

Although the brand was founded in 2012, it gained momentum in 2015 through the use of many social media influencers. Today, DURO threads have over 50,000 followers on Facebook and Instagram. The brand has used social media as a platform to expands it digital presence and influence in fashion culture.
