Current Project: In August of 2013, I began a Wikipedia article about Mary Stewart Doubleday Cutting after discovering someone had begun an article titled Mary Stewart Cutting that contained erroneous information because the author had confused a similarly-named mother and daughter. Because Mary Stewart Doubleday Cutting was a distant relative (by marriage), I had already done some casual research and was able to make the correction and begin the new article. However, the article is considered a stub and is in danger of being deleted. Interestingly, the daughter's article, while shorter, apparently is not in such danger, perhaps because she was labeled a suffragist while her mother was only a writer of domestic novels. In the meantime, however, MSDC's work has become available online, and I can include links with brief synopses and can also demonstrate that her work, which depicted the brave, new woman of independent financial means, influenced the suffragist movement.
