Alan Walford is the founder of Eos Systems Inc. and original developer of the PhotoModeler software product. Eos Systems was founded in 1990 to bring Close Range Photogrammetry (CRP) and Image-Based-Modeling to a wider audience.

Alan wrote the base PhotoModeler Wikipedia article - he hopes this is accepted by the community for these reasons

  • the base article was written in a balanced and factual style
  • no marketing or sales 'speak' was used
  • online and publicly available sources are referenced to back up key items
  • references to competing products are included in a straight forward manner
  • there are already references in Wikipedia to PhotoModeler but there is no PhotoModeler article
  • there are articles in Wikipedia for similar products (SOCET SET, Leica Photogrammetry Suite) and they were used as templates for the PhotoModeler article
  • PhotoModeler has been around for many years and pretty much started the PC-based close range photogrammetry all-digital product space
  • PhotoModeler is the leading product of its type in the world (and is sold in virtually every country in the world) (not mentioned in the base article on purpose because sounds too 'salesy')
  • there is probably no better person to write a factual article on PhotoModeler (and instead of going through the ruse of finding a 3rd party he thought he'd be open about it)
