I am a third year student at the University of Toronto in the biological chemistry specialist program. I am going to write a page for Wikipedia as part of a class project (see CHM437H1 S Bioinorganic Chemistry for details). Check out my sandbox to see what I'm currently working on!

Biography edit

Birth and Schooling edit

I was born in Penn Yan, New York in 1994, but moved to Tilbury, Ontario when I was about four years old. I was home schooled until grade 3, when I went to Chatham Christian Schools (see Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools) for both elementary and high school. Graduating in Spring 2012, I was top of my class especially when it came to math and science. Since the 10th grade, I had a desire to pursue Biochemistry and was encouraged by both my chemistry teacher and my career guidance counselor to look into that field. I chose to go the University of Toronto St. George Campus and was accepted for Fall 2012. Now in my third year of undergrad, I'm specializing in biological chemistry, with the intent of pursing a graduate degree followed by a career in lab research.

Faith edit

I was eleven years old when I first asked Jesus Christ to come into my heart, and have since identified with the Christian faith. In particular, I belong to the Baptist denomination and am currently a member of Jarvis Street Baptist Church. My father is a pastor at Tilbury Baptist Church in Tilbury, and both he and my mother raised me to know and love God. I did not choose Christ because they told me to, but I chose Christ because I truly believe that He is the Son of God, and that He came to Earth as a man in order to die and pay the price for my sins. I believe He rose again (bodily) on the third day after His death and that He is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. I believe that someday Jesus will return in glory, and all those who have received salvation by faith through Him shall live with Him for eternity. If you would like to know more about Jesus or my beliefs, I invite you to post on my talk page; it would be my pleasure to explain my faith in more detail to you. I do not mind talking about controversial or "touchy" topics (in fact, those are the conversations I tend to enjoy), but please remember to be respectful according to Wikipedia's policy.
