Hi there,

My name is Aislinn - Ash for short - and I'm a new(ish) Wikipedia contributor, product and interaction designer excited to use my design thinking skills to make the world a better place.

From product design to screen-based interaction, I am passionate about incorporating and translating people's needs in the design process. From need-finding to rapid prototyping, I strive to create innovative solutions that meaningfully impact people's lives. Majoring in multimedia studies and graphic design from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, I explored a range of mediums from video to installation design to the web. Following graduation from Northeastern, I attended New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications graduate program (ITP) and got hands-on with programming and physical computing to better understand how different input and feedback mechanisms can be leveraged in product interaction. Following ITP, I went to work at Yahoo, Inc. on web content strategy and user experience design challenges across several web products.

In order to design across a broader variety of channels and industries, I joined IDEO Chicago, and worked across the energy, health, retail and e-commerce industries. The area of behavior change became of particular interest and I continue to explore ways to use design for positive good. Now at Fitbit, Inc in San Francisco, I am getting to use my product and software design background in an area I am passionate about: behavior change in the health and wellness space.

Also - so the community has transparency, my partner is Victor Grigas, storyteller at the Wikimedia Foundation.
