Faveoolithus is an oogenus of dinosaur egg.

editClassification
editFaveoloolithus contains the single oospecies Faveoloolithus ningxiaensis.[1] In a talk at the International Dinosaur Symposium in Fukui 2008, the Chinese paleontologist Jin Xingsheng named a new oospecies, F. zhangi, but a formal description of this species does not yet exist in the literature.[2]

editThe first fossils discovered of Faveoloolithus were discovered in the early 1970s, and were named by the Chinese paleontologists Zhao Zikui and Ding Shangren in 1976, when they were classified into a single oospecies F. ningxiaensis, at the time the sole member of family Faveoloolithidae. The type specimen is a single nest of eight complete eggs and three incomplete eggs; three other broken eggs were also assigned to the oospecies at that time.[1]
