Carolyn Stuart is an Art Historian living in Los Angeles with a focus on late nineteenth and twentieth century American Art. She received her Ph.D. in Art History from UCLA with a master's thesis about Florine Stettheimer, and a doctoral dissertation about Stuart Davis. She has taught world and western surveys of art and visual culture, history of American art, history of modernism, history of nineteenth century photography, history of feminist art, and seminars on various subjects (e.g. landscape art, colonial art of conquest, and "contested spaces").
