These are lists of images that are used in articles on the German Wikipedia, where the corresponding English article does not have an image. Some (not all) of these images would be a good addition to the English article. Each image is shown as a large thumbnail, and above the image are links to the German article where the image is being used, and to the corresponding English article. For convenience, image code is shown which can be used to place the image in the English article. The image caption included is copied from the use of the image on the German Wikipedia, and will need to be translated/rewritten. I think that roughly 1 in 5, or 1 in 10 of the images are useful. Each list contains 50 images.
I only searched for .jpg (and not .svg etc), because I found this gives more usable results. If you find the English article does have an image, it is usually because it was added after Dec 03, the date of the database dump, or because it is not jpg. If a thumbnail is a red link, it is usually because the image is uploaded locally on the German Wikipedia, and is not uploaded on Wikimedia Commons.
The data is based on the database dumps of the English and German Wikipedias from resp. Dec 03 and Nov 24 2009. To create the lists I wrote a Python program.
