editThe Light Square is a garden square located in the district of Carnide, between Paço do Lumiar Road, Luz Road, Fote Street, and Carmelitas Path. It has the total area of 0.8 ha, and contains the Light Garden (Portuguese: Jardim da Luz). It is also alternativly known as the Teixeira Rebelo Garden (Portuguese: Jardim Teixeira Rebelo), after António Teixeira Rebelo, founder of the Military College in Lisbon.
Every year in September, at the square is held the Light Festival (Portuguese: Feira da Luz). It is the oldst festival of this kind in Portugal, with its tradition dating to the 16th-century.
