Design

The civil flag of Lower Austria is divided horizontally into two stripes, with blue stripe on the top, and blue stripe on the bottom. The state flag features the coat of arms of Lower Austria, placed in the centre of the civil flag.

History

The flag of Lower Austria was officially adopted on 9 August 1954. Its colours were based on the coat of arms of the state, which was described in the constitutional law of 1920, and that appears as early as 1335.

Design

The civil flag of Lower Austria is divided horizontally into two stripes, with blue stripe on the top, and blue stripe on the bottom. The state flag features the coat of arms of Lower Austria, placed in the centre of the civil flag.

The coat of arms consists has a blue Iberian style escutcheon (shield) with square top and rounded base. It includes four yellow (golden) eagles with rised wings, placed in two rows each containing two birds. In each row, they are facing each other. Below them is
