My name is Afton. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am 22 years old, originally from DuBois, Pa. I am a Senior at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Psychology and Sociology. In the future, I will attend graduate school for Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Within my Sociology class, Social Change in the US, we are learning how to utilize Wikipedia in order to post our newly researched information. For this class, I am researching the deindustrialization of Sweden.

For our first of our weekly assignments for Social Change in the US, we read from Global Social Change and answered questions pertaining to globalization, deglobalizaion, and the ways in which to study global social phenomenon.
It has been unseasonably (and unreasonably!) cold in Pittsburgh this past week. A low of 3 degrees was unbearable!
The second of our weekly assignments was based on Valentine Moghadam's understanding and critiques of globalization, effects of globalization on women, and the anti-corporate globalization movement (ACGM).
