The Interlochen Alumni Organization Board serves as the liaison between Interlochen's global alumni community and Interlochen Center for the Arts. Members are elected from the Camp and Academy alumni population and serve two-year terms.

There are nearly 70,000 alumni of Interlochen Arts Camp and Interlochen Arts Academy living all over the world. Some of their names are listed below.

Talk Page Entry

edit

The Notable Alumni section has a few issues. It's a large list, it contains a number of people who's notability is questionable, there are not verifiable sources for most listings, and there is no description of the person or their contribution. Additionally there is no distinction between attendees of the Academy, and those who just came to a summer camp one time. Ideally (see Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Lists of people) each entry would look something like this:

There's a long way to go to get to that stage. To kick things off, I've been through each entry in the list. The following people I've deleted as they do not currently have an entry in wikipedia (are therefore are likely not notable). It's possible to be notable and not have an article, but to stay in this list you'd need to be provide verifiable secondary sources establishing that. Feel free to add them back in with those references.

These next entries have a wikilink to some article, but they are problematic for some other reason. I've deleted them. The various reasons are listed next to their names below. Again, if you have verifiable secondary sources that show they are notable and attended Interlochen please add them back.

  • Nicole Davis - link is to a volleyball player with no mention of Interlochen, so either the wrong person, or they are not notable as an alumni because they are notable in a different field
  • Allie Schulz - link is a redirect to reality show she was a contestant on, not noteable
  • Paul Stovall - link is to a pro basketball player with no mention of Interlochen, so either the wrong person, or they are not notable as an alumni because they are notable in a different field
  • Cody Williams - link is to father Robin Williams, not notable
  • Matthew Raymond - no article, just a link to his own website
  • Nora Menken - link is to Alan Menken her father, she's not in notable in her own right
  • Robert Rummel-Hudson - link is to a parenting author with no mention of Interlochen, so either the wrong person, or they are not notable as an alumni because they are notable in a different field

Everyone else, I've kept in the list for now.

This group have references attached to them in the list. They stay, but someone should probably check the links support the claim that they attended Interlochen.

The group below have wikipedia articles, and it mentions in the article that they have some association with Interlochen, and there is a reference in the article near that claim. I haven't checked the references, but ideally, someone would do that to check that the reference establishes they are an amluni, then come back here and add in the reference.

This next list is the people who have a mention of Interlochen in their article, but there's no reference anywhere near the claim. They either need deleted, or we need to find references to say they attended Interlochen.

This next list is the people who do not have have a mention of Interlochen in their article. They either need deleted, or we need to find references to say they attended Interlochen.

Not that I still haven't tackled the problem of differentiating between camp attendees and academy members. That can be for another day. AntiVan (talk) 07:03, 9 July 2017 (UTC)

Keep (referenced in this article)

These people have wiki bios that mention and references attached directly in the list, but the references have not been checked. That needs done at some stage, but I feel its a low priority compared to some of these others.

Keep for now

Mentioned & References

edit

These people have a mention in their bio that they attended camp, worked at, or studied at Interlochlan. I haven't checked the references to ensure they support the claim. This needs done to keep them in the article.

Mentioned in bio, but no reference

edit

No mention of Interlochen in bio

edit

These are the lowest quality in the sense that their bio does not mention that they attended Interlochen in any capacity.
