Which article are you evaluating?
editWhy you have chosen this article to evaluate?
editI chose this article because of its relevance to our course, specifically looking at how it has evolved over time. I personally am a very big fan of "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, as well as the literary elements that tie into the ethos of the American Dream.
Evaluate the article
editFor the lead section, it is set up really well. While providing a comprehensive overview of the idea of the American Dream in the first paragraph, the second paragraph delves into the history of the American Dream. It follows the same sort of structure as a news article, starting broadly and getting more descriptive as it continues.
The actual content of the article is organized very well, moving through the history of the term and its popular culture references. I don't find any bias in the article, as it is very factual and provides several sources that contribute to its claims. Speaking of, there are over 100 cited sources, as well as numerous 'recommended reading articles'. This allows the reader to gather a well-rounded amount of information and make their own informed opinion.
The only thing truly lacking from this article in my opinion is use of media. There are only a few across the whole length of the article. Including more would overall improve the amount of information in the article, as well as make it a little more visually appealing.
The Talk page mainly discusses how there may be information missing, with some potential lines that might provide some bias. Overall, it is productive conversation.
