Being a rank beginner on Wikipedia, I'm finding my first steps into this world a bit baffling. But I'll persevere!

About me: I have a background in biology and music, I've lived in six countries but am fluent only in my native English, and I'm sufficiently devoted to National Public Radio that it would probably take a twelve-step program to wean me.

As someone who has taught at a university, I was initially wary of Wikipedia--and, indeed, any reference material from the electronic world. While I still approach much of what I find on-line with skepticism, I've been impressed every time I look up a subject on Wikipedia that I know something about. This exercise in idealism really seems to work!
