Hello! I am Andy Geisel known as Andyprod1 on Wikipedia.

Early life

Originally from Florida, I grew up in Miami, and later moved to the Ocala-Gainesville area of north central Florida. I earned my AA in Journalism & Communications from Central Florida Community College, and then went on to get my BA in Radio/TV/Film at UCF in Orlando.

While I was there, I was accepted into the pilot program for the Valencia Community College/Universal Studios Florida Film Program, which is ongoing. I also studied Recording Engineering at Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts.

Career

After graduation in 1986, I went into engineering and mixing radio spots for local and nations advertising, and later joined the staff of Century III Teleproductions, where I went into Post Production Audio mixing, working on TV spots and specials, including Spring Break concerts for MTV and other clients. I was given the opportunity to join the location sound department of a syndicated TV series, “The Adventures of Superboy,” where I worked with noted location mixer Peter Devlin. The following year, I transitioned into the Locations department, where I was the show’s Location Coordinator. During this time, I worked on location sound on a freelance basis for numerous clients, including Sea Doo/Bombardier and MTV, syndicated series such as A Current Affair, and several seasons of the Mickey Mouse Club for the Disney Channel, among many others. I also worked on the TV series “Thunder in Paradise,” which was produced by Berk-Schwartz-Bonann (BSB), the company behind “Baywatch,” where I served as Post Production Assistant. That series only lasted one season, following which I joined the staff of the Mickey Mouse Club as Post-Production Coordinator for the seventh and final season. I also worked on “Global Guts” as Associate Producer and Post Supervisor for a 7-nation international edition of the popular Nickelodeon competition show, and later moved to Los Angeles, where I spent several years as a Post Supervisor, Associate Producer and writer. I’ve finished and delivered hundreds of hours of TV for all of the major broadcast and cable networks. I’ve also worked as a regional and local news writer and editor. These days, I’m working on developing feature film projects, including writing treatments and screenplays … who knows, perhaps one day some of those will end up having a page here! I’m a HUGE pop culture, film and music buff, and here on Wikipedia, I’ve been fortunate to contribute to several pages, many of which music or entertainment related. One challenge I love about Wikipedia is its standards of editing, which are quite stringent and deservedly so. It’s been good practice and makes me continue working on my editorial skills, particularly as concerns finding reliable references for certain contributions.

Wikipedia

Between my writing and development work, as well as helping nonprofits with grants and communications, I don’t have a lot of time left over for Wikipedia work, but I try and nip in to help out where I can. I have a great appreciation for everyone who volunteers time to work behind the scenes. It’s a tremendous, terrific resource, one I hope will endure for a long time to come.

Personal Life
