I am the director of a University-based policy research institution called the Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies, at the University of the Western Cape. My professional interests include the social and economic dimensions of poverty and inequality, particularly in agro-food systems.
I live in Cape Town, South Africa.
My other interests include literature, cinema, and electronic and alternative music.
