Life and Career
editWoody Pak was born on July 8, 1970. He tried the violin and the piano before committing to the guitar at 10 years old. To appease his strict parents, he learned the classical guitar, but his aspirations were more along the lines of his influences: Elvis Presley, Eddie Van Halen, and Led Zeppelin.
He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and then the Juilliard School of Music[1]. During his time at Juilliard, he met Welly Yang of Second Generation[2], who commissioned him to compose his very first rock musical Making Tracks. He spent the next seven years with 2g writing soundtracks for movies, pop music, and musicals.
As of 2016, Pak lives in Los Angeles with his wife and children, and his production house The Woodhouse, but still continues collaboration with 2g and the creative partners he met there, Brian Yorkey and Welly Yang.
