The DREAM challenge is a crowd-sourcing science computational challenge. The challenge engages the fields of statistics, machine learning and computational biology to competitively solve a specific problem in biomedicine in a given time period.
Over the past seven years DREAM has launched 27 successful challenges [1] and evolved a powerful approach to democratize data and engage a diverse research community in order to accelerate the pace of meaningful discovery.
Sage Bionetworks and DREAM merged in early 2013 to run open science computational challenges which center on novel data sources and types (i.e., human whole genome sequence and image data), engage the biomedical research community and provide a meaningful impact to both discovery and clinical research.
