Hummingbird's need a lot of food to travel the distance they do for migration. They can't stop and eat when they go across the gulf of Mexico. Hummingbirds are repelled by the freezing winter temperatures. The way we could help the hummingbirds as a way people interact with animals is to put out hummingbird's feeders with sugar water, or flowers. Such as Tubular Blossoms and also a butterfly bush so if you would like to have butterfly's and hummingbirds then that's a great plant to consider.
