Advertising is old fashioned. It has a long storied history as a device to sell products. But the way we write and deliver AD’s today barely resemble the classic print, radio and TV pitches of the past.

AD’s involves mass media, from radio, TV, to Internet, magazines, newspapers and billboards. Advertising is necessary for the growth of an organisation or brand. A good AD can be persuasive, such that it could actually make us purchase a product we had no intention to buy.

Some widely known brands or products and services such as MTN, Coca-Cola, Indomie, why do you think they still spend lot of money to display their AD even though they are widely known? Well let not forget that every product has a competitor out there, and in the market involves great competition between different brands with similar qualities. An AD is then made as a reminder, to their target audience, to persuade and make them believe why they are still better than their competitor.

In advertising this days celebrities are used to market products because they are seen as role models by so many, if Barcelona’s mercy is used in an AD, most fans of mercy are likely to purchase the product.

Advertising is also used to introduce new products to the market, with a very creative style and also a very convincing content, with a good price one could see reasons why they should purchase a certain new product in the market.
