Hello! My name is Lew (Lewis A.) White, a baby boomer "born and raised" in Falmouth. Massachusetts. Retired technologist (software and systems engineering), educator (esp. statistics), and small business owner. Now a historian and writer. I’m fourth-generation Açorean in America, a great grandson of one of the founding families of the Fresh Pond Irmandade do Espirito Santo, and a lecturer on Portuguese immigration on Cape Cod. A four-lecture series was recorded and broadcast several times by Falmouth cable TV. Author of "Sopas - A brief history of Portuguese islanders, the Cape Cod town of Falmouth, and the Feast of the Holy Ghost" and contributor to Spritsail magazine (a publication of the Woods Hole Historical Society). Received the Portuguese Heritage Award from the Portuguese American Legislative Caucus of the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2016.
