My name is Amy Manaresi. I am from New Jersey but am currently living and working in Wilmington, Delaware. I work for DuPont, in their Central Research and Development, Biotechnology division. I work on a microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) project, which has a goal of utilizing microbial mechanisms to aid in the release and recovery of more oil in existing wells, in a wide range of environmental conditions. Despite all the microbiology and molecular biology involved in my work, I am technically an engineer—I received my B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rowan University (Glassboro, NJ) in 2010. I am pursuing an M.S. in Biotechnology in hopes of complementing my lab experiences and gaining more of an understanding of the science behind my work. My future career goals are to potentially work in technical services, as a liaison between the research and customer/business side of a biological process or product. My interests include running, cooking, traveling, yoga, and supporting Philadelphia sports teams :)
