AlamoZoologist is a degreed (BS, BA) zoologist and journalist, and has been a NAUI Diving Instructor for 28+ years. He also owns and operates Ravenswood School of Jousting, which began in Washington state and is now located in New Mexico. He has been published extensively -- with topics including: natural history; veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam; scuba diving and exploration; city and county government; investigative reporting; tourist destinations; special events; animal husbandry; animal behavior; law enforcement; political campaigns; corruption; places of historial significance; forestry issues and ecology; human interest; music; and special occupations. He has been a keynote speaker for Animal Planet from coast to coast, presented numerous school assemblies on a wide range of animal species, and has made 2 appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno working with Jim Fowler, in addition to several other television programs. He was nominated and selected as NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) College Alumnus of the Year for 1985, and developed NAUI specialty courses for River Diving, Advanced (penetration) Wreck Diving, and the DPV Hydro Pilot Course. During his years as a wildlife educator, he worked with Dustin Hoffman, Ervin "Magic" Johnson, Robert Urich, Martin Short, and Jay Leno. He currently writes for a daily paper in New Mexico and is also working on a project for Discovery Channel involving WWII Japanese submarines off the coast of the Pacific Northwest.
