Amadeus was a visual kei band active from 1996 until 2002. The band was formed after the partial disbandment of After Image.

History

edit

Amadeus was formed in 1996 after the partial disbandment of the band After Image and was led by former members Hiron, Seiji, and Miyu. The band released their first EP, "Ludwig no shouzou" (ルートヴィヒの肖像), in January 1998 through the label Fantasia, which they would remain with through the remainder of the band's activity.[1] The EP featured female vocals by Nene, who would eventually become the fourth member of Amadeus. In September of the same year the band released the 4-track Mini-Album, "In the Mist", which was followed up with a one-track demo tape entitled "Hieta kokoro ni toso wo" (冷えた心に闘争を) in the spring of 2000. In June 2000 the band would also release a compilation album, "Mikan no Gosenfu to Kurayami no Meikyuu" (未完の五線譜と暗闇の迷宮), which contained 13 previously released songs and one new piece. Two VHS releases were issued in 2001, shortly before band members Seiji and Nene announced their intent to leave the band. The remaining members, Miyu and Hiron, followed up this announcement by stating that the band would be on hiatus but that they still wished to perform in Amadeus in the future.
