The house of Ussher is one of the oldest and notable families from Ireland. The history of the Ussher family can be traced as far back as 1066 with the invasion of England by William the conqueror. The Ussher family is originally from the Viking race [1] .the first recorded use of Ussher as a surname in Britain is in connection with the de Neville family when they were granted the position of Usher of the royal court.
The Ussher Family was the local gentry in Dublin and the seat of the family was Donnybrook Castle.
