Mufti Syed Mohammad Akmal Wasti. (July 26, 1916- July 10, 1996) Famous Muslim scholar and expert of Islamic Law, Mufti Syed Mohammad Akmal Wasti was born on July 26, 1916 in a noble religious family in Gulaothi Dist. Buland Sheher UP India. He memorized Quran at the age of ten and completed his early education in Madarsa Mumbahul Uloom, which was established by Maulana Hazrat Qasim Nanautwi (founder of Darul Uloom Deo Band) and Hazrat Sufi Mohammad Hasan Grandfather of Mufti Syed Mohammad Akmal Wasti).) After completing his early education from his hometown, Mufti Mohammad Akmal moved out to seek more education at Darul Uloom Deoband where he completed Dars-e-Nizami and Dora-e-Hadees. During this period he got a chance to attend the classes of many renowned Scholars and Ulama’ of his time. Among them were Shaikh-ul- Islam Hazrat Molana Syed Husain Ahmad Madani (R.A.) and Shaikh-ul-Hadees Hazrat Allama Anwar Shah Kashmiri (R.A.). Mufti Mohammad Akmal was one of the best students of Daruloom Deoband in his time. He joined Darul Uloom Deoband as a teacher (Mudarris). He also taught in Madarsa-e-Ameenia, Dehli, before his migration to Pakistan in 1960. In Pakistan, he used to live in Karachi and joined Darul Ifta’a of Madarsa-e-Ashrafia Jacob Lines, as a head of Darul-Ifta. Madarsa Ashrafia was administrated by famous scholar Hazrat Molana Ehteshamul Haq Thanwi. Mufti Mohammad Akmal served and taught here and remained affiliated with it till 1996. He worked as Shaikh-ul-Hadees and head of Darul Ifta’a in Tablighi Collage Hub River road. He issued thousands of decrees (Fatwas) and religious judgments. He was well known for his expertise in Islamic Law of Inheritance (Qanoon-e-Wirasat), Philosophy, Logic and Life / Death of the messengers of Allah (Hayat un Nabi). He was spiritually committed one (Mureed) with Shaikh-ul- Islam Hazrat Molana Syed Husain Ahmad Madani (R.A.).

He had several students. Some of his well-known students are: Molana Syed Arshad Madani, Mehmud Ahmad Ghazi, Molana Tanweer-Ul-Haq Thanwi, Professor  Mohammad Amir and Molana Ameer Alvi. They are renowned scholar and serving Islam and nation as well.

Famous Muslim scholar, Mufti Syed Mohammad Akmal Wasti son of Molvi Mohammad Saleh, often refer to as Mufti Mohammad Akmal, was a South Asian Sunni Islamic scholar of the Deobandi school of Islamic thought, a Hanafi jurist and Mufi. He was born on July 26, 1916 in a noble religious family in Gulaothi Dist. Buland Sheher UP India. He memorized Quran at the age of ten and completed his early education in Madarsa Mumbahul Uloom, which was established by Maulana Hazrat Qasim Nanautwi (founder of Darul Uloom Deo Band) and Hazrat Sufi Mohammad Hasan (Grandfather of Mufti Syed Mohammad Akmal Wasti). After completing his early education from his hometown, young Mohammad Akmal moved out to seek more education at Darul Uloom Deoband where he completed Dars-e-Nizami and Dora-e-Hadees. In Pakistan he used to live in Karachi and joined Madarsa-e-Ashrafia Jackob Lines, as a head of Darul-Ifta. Madarsa Ashrafia was administrated by famous religious scholer Hazrat Molana Ehteshamul Haq Thanwi. Mufti Mohammad Akmal served and taught here and remained affliated with it till 1996. He worked as Shaikh-ul-Hadees and head of Darul Ifta’a in Tablighi Collage Hub River road. He issued thousands of decrees (Fatwas) and religious judgments. He was an authority on Islamic Law of Inheritance (Qanoon-e-Wirasat), Philosophy, Logic and Life history of the Messingers AS(Hayatunnabi). He was spiritually commited one (murid) with Shaikh-ul- Islam Hazrat Molana Syed Husain Ahmad Madani (R.A.) . He had several students. He had a command on the Islamic Banking and delivered many lectures about it. He wrote a memorabble article about slavery in Islam put an end to the slavery.
