Aaron Harrington is an Aerospace Engineer who works in the field of unmanned aircraft and micro air vehicle systems. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Maryland in May 2009 and in 2011 he received his Masters of Science, also from the University of Maryland, with a focus in Rotorcraft. During his time in graduate school, Aaron was a Science Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship recipient, a Department of Defense full scholarship for service sponsored by the Naval Postgraduate School. His research on optimizing propulsion system designs for micro air vehicles helped develop practical understanding of propulsion system efficiencies with regards to proper rotor and motor coupling and formed the basis for a predictive based analysis that could be used to increase the endurance of UAVs, in particular hovering vehicles.... more to come.
