edit

India has been celebrating Teacher's Day on 5th September, since 1962. Teacher's Day is the Birthday of the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was an advocate of education and one of the greatest scholars and teachers, apart from being the first Vice President and the second President of India. Teachers give us moral value system. Earlier, we used to call our teachers 'Guru' and now it is 'Sir' or 'Madam'. But the role of teachers has remained the same. We will always be thankful to them for their constructive support. On Teacher's day, students across India dress up as their teachers in classes. Sometimes, teachers sit in their classes as students and students will be appointed as teacher. The students will present dance, dramas, and other programs to entertain their teachers. The students would offer flowers, greeting cards and gifts to the teachers. What we learn from our teachers remains with us, throughout our life. Since Teacher's Day is observed on different dates in different countries of the world.
