Chad Root (Afl27)
Bio: Chad was born in Orange County, California at the tail end of the 1980's. He grew up living a quiet life with his parents, brothers of which he is the eldest, and imaginary pet dog. During his childhood, he loved two things, sports and video games.
His early life was consumed by his passion for playing baseball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Somehow, between the hectic practice schedule, Chad found time to study in school and read. He was a naturally gifted reader who read far above his grade level. By the age of six, he was reading chapter books and mystery novels at the rate of one book per day.
Suffice it to say the local librarians became his best friends.
Later, at the age of 17, he would go on to work as a pharmacy technician. Medicine fascinated him and he would begin to pursue pharmacy as his career of choice.
Chad went on to study at OCC and UCSD, in Southern California. It was during his time at the latter that he discovered his love of travel.
After leaving the University, Chad decided to become a full-time traveler. His first stop was in Taiwan, where he sought employment as an English teacher. Soon after he arrived, he began teaching business English at an adult school in Taipei.
At the same time, he continued to pursue his love of travel, visiting nearly 30 countries in his first three years in Taiwan.
It was during this time of travel and exploration that he was encouraged to start blogging about his experiences abroad.
Today he spends his free time reading novels and historical texts, as well as writing for his various webpages [1][2].
