James Douglas Moultray (10 November 1831 - 3 March 1911) is a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
editHis father was Henry Moultray (24 June 1798 - 3 October 1873) from Pittencrieff, Dunfermline.
His mother was Elizabeth Murray (25 May 1797 - 18 September 1872) from Liberton, Edinburgh. Henry and Elizabeth married on 28 June 1822 in Liberton.
James Douglas Moultray was born on 10 November 1831 in Edinburgh.[3] He was baptised on 8 January 1832 in Bread Street, Edinburgh.
He married Mary Elder (27 January 1829 - 4 June 1911) from Edinburgh. They married on 29 July 1853 in Edinburgh.
He emigrated to New Zealand in 1883 on the ship Helen Denny.
