Robert Munro (18 September 1841 - 8 August 1908) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was John Munro (18 June 1799 - 29 September 1861), a power loom lappet tenter from Kilbirnie in Ayrshire.

His mother was Mary Knox (1 December 1800 - 3 March 1878) from Kilbirnie. John and Mary married on 12 July 1819 in Kilbirnie.

Robert Munro was born in the Gorbals, Glasgow on 18 September 1841. He was baptised on 10 October 1841.[8][9]

He became a cashier.

His brother was the artist Thomas Munro (10 August 1835 - 4 February 1905).[10][11]

Death

He died on 8 August 1908 at 74 Clifford Street, Glasgow.

The value of his estate was £1999, 1 shilling and 4 pence.[12]
