George Joseph Mitchell (20 June 1882 - 3 September 1953) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was George Joseph Mackenzie Mitchell [Snr] (9 February 1855), a printer's machineman from Brechin, Angus.
His mother was Jessie Howieson Raffen (31 October 1856 - 1 November 1923) from Aberdeen. They married in 1876.
George Joseph Mitchell was born on 20 June 1882 in Dundee.[5][6]
He married Margaret Richardson (born c. 1885) from Camberwell, London, England. They married in January 1912 in Redruth, Cornwall.
