Robert Mackechnie (6 July 1894 - ) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
editHis father was John Maclellan Mackechnie (born 28 April 1856), known as Jack, a writer (solicitor) from Bonhill, Dunbartonshire.
His mother was Christina Sang (30 August 1863 - 24 October 1946), known as Ina, from Edinburgh. Jack and Ina married on 21 June 1890 at 28 Drummond Place, Edinburgh.
Robert George Sang Mackechnie was born on 6 July 1894 in Glasgow.
He married the artist Margaret Helen Barnard (born 8 September 1898) from Bengal in India. They married on 8 January 1924 at St. Anselm, Davies Street in London, England. Margaret studied at the Glasgow School of Art from 1917 to 1923.
Art
editRobert joined the art group, the Seven and Five Society in 1927.
Death
editHe died in Battle, East Sussex around October - December 1975.
