James Irvine (29 September 1822 - 17 March 1889) was a Scottish painter and potter.

Life

His father was John Irvine (6 April 1790 - 21 September 1855), a joiner from Menmuir in Angus.

His mother was Janet Mitchell (c. 1795 - 24 March 1860) from Angus.

James Irvine was born on 29 September 1822 in Menmuir in Angus.

Death

He died in 17 March 1889 at his home in Brunswick Cottage, Hillside, Montrose.^[1] The value of his estate was given as £1378, 6 shillings and 4 pence.^[2]
