William Howie (24 April 1831 - 25 August 1891) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life
editHis father was James Howie (born 11 April 1811) from Kilmarnock.
His mother was Jean Brown (born c. 1811) from Ayrshire.
William Howie was born on 24 April 1831 in Darvel, Ayrshire.[3]

He married Rebecca Stephenson Robinson from Northallerton, the daughter of Joseph Torr Robinson, a chemist. They married on 30 November 1858 in Northallerton.[4]

editHe died on 25 August 1891 in North Meols, near Ormskirk, Lancashire, England. He is buried in Duke Street cemetery in Southport, Lancashire, England.[7]
