William Beattie Brown Junior (18 March 1878 - 9 April 1917) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
editHis father was the artist William Beattie Brown (9 November 1831 - 31 March 1909) from Haddington, East Lothian.
His mother was Esther Love Doig (1839 - 1904) from Perth. They married on 23 December 1858 in Edinburgh.
William Beattie Brown [Jnr.] was born on 18 March 1878 in Portobello, Edinburgh.
His elder brother was the artist Henry William Jennings Brown.
William [Jnr.] went to Daniel Stewart's College in Edinburgh.
During the First World War he was a captain in the 25th Battalion of Northumberland Fusiliers.

editHe died on active service in the First World War, on 9 April 1917 in Arras, France. His usual address was given as 11 Randolph Place, Edinburgh.
