Benoy Berry is the chairman of Contec Global Agro Limited[1] [2]and is known to have established the first company in Nigeria and Africa which produces smart handsets known as AfriOne. He has also pioneered card technology solutions in Nigeria.[3][4]

Education

Benoy earned a Bachelor of Arts with first-class honors in Economics from the University of Delhi in India[3], after which he obtained a Master of Arts with a place on the school's roll of honor in Finance from the same University. He studied further and bagged his Doctorate from World Open University where he studied communication and arts. He also pursued an academic career at

Harvard University in Massachusetts.[3]

Career

Benoy worked in Investment banking and marketing industries before venturing out on his own.

In 1984 Benoy founded Continental Transfer Technique Limited better Known as Contec Global Group with offices on four different continents around the world is known as a security technology company that operates across several developing countries.

Benoy through Contec Global also owns and oversees Wiesmann sports cars which is a German luxury automobile manufacturer. Benoy's Contec Global concentrated on Africa until 2008 when Benoy decided to explore and build his company's presence in the United Kingdom, Europe , and the Middle East.

Benoy also is actively involved in the Agro sister company of Contec Global, especially through their manufactured biofertilizers which he encouraged farmers in Nigeria to use. He told farmers that the use of chemical fertilizers would negatively impact not only humans but crops, and the environment[5]

Benoy also said that technology can open borders to business and tourism as well as create jobs.[6]

Benoy's AfriOne (a subsidiary enterprise to Contec Global was launched in Nigeria, produced by Nigerians and for Nigerians on the 21st of April 2017[3]

During the alliance of Contec Global and Maithri Aqua tech, Benoy said that the alliance will help transform governments, corporates, and communities in the Middle East[7]

Benoy was recently captioned as one of the 25 Indian billionaires who made their fortune in Africa[8]
