Space Hero is a indian rock band from Santa Fe NM, founded by Jacob Abeyta(Vocals/ Synthesizer) and Lucas Romero(Vocals/ Guitar). Indipendent from a label the group formed in 2011 and has since then produced over 50 songs, spread across four CDs. Although they are related the duo officially hit it off at Santa Fe High School in an Anthropology class where they had no other friends. Originally the band formed under the name The Demos when the two began to experiment with recording apps on Jacob's IPod Touch. Using a 4 track recording software on the iPod the two would take turns recording and adding to each others songs at home during the school week. "Burgundy" perhaps the first song ever written by the two began with a few recorded tracks from Lucas' Guitar, and completed the next day with Abeyta's synth. Amazed by the final product the next day, Lucas knew that the two had something special. Within the next few months the two began to invest all of their time in recording and all of their money in porn. Eventually benefiting from both, the two finally got laid as a result of their music. That was the day Jacob realized that they had something special. Nearly a year Later the two had recorded over 50 different songs spread across four separate cd's which are only given to people who actually give a fuck. After each cd is completed the group burns a single copy to give to there uncle, Amado Abeyta of Sol Fire, before giving one to anybody else. Each copy of Space Hero music includes its own unique design on the cover of the burned cd, which is drawn on with sharpie by either one of the band members. Starting with "the Demos" the groups first cd, entirely recorded through the microphone headphones designed for the iPhone, features hits such as "Winding Down" "Burgundy" and "Distracted By Time" where you could actually hear the mic being ripped of an amp which it was usually taped to. After countless hours of uncomfortable recording the two began to work with new beat making/ recording software for the iPod which were introduced to them by Abeyta's little brother Dillon. NanoStudio was the first beat making app used where they began to learn and experiment with Loops and software instruments allowing them to record with studio quality on their second cd "Places Unheard Of". This was also around the time they Changed their name to Space Hero, after discovering that The Demos was taken, and after adopting an extremely spacy sound from the selection of software synths featured in NanoStudio. Soon after Jacob graduated from High School his parents upgraded him to an iPad where him and Lucas began working with Garage Band where they were able to add vocals and once again record using real fucking instruments on their third cd "Roman Abeyta's Album" which was never officially named, but given this title by the computer once finished on garage band and imported to iTunes. Once Abeyta began to attend The University of New Mexico he no longer was able to see Lucas on a weekly basis, being that Lucas is two years younger than Jacob. Still strongly believing in what they had started, Abeyta had no other choice but to teach himself how to play guitar and continued writing songs for Space Hero. After a semester of separation Jacob decided to move back home realizing that he would never be as good as Lucas at Guitar, and that it is hard work being an adult. He continues to go to UNM on Tuesdays and Thursdays giving him time to recorded all day Monday Wednesday and Fridays for Space Hero's forth cd "Midnight Fiction". Most Space Hero music can be found on YouTube under "jakeabeyta" or sound cloud under SpaceHero. Although the band is indipendent and will probably never get a record deal, they steer clear from categorizing their music into a specific genre, being that each cd so far features a different sound. The sounds that the group generally goes for are inspired by genres such as Space Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Punk Funk, etc. www.spaceheromusic.com--Abeyta500 (talk) 22:42, 18 March 2012 (UTC)
