Article Review edit
For as long as I can remember, I have loved coffee. The beautifully pungent aroma, the hundreds of variations in color, flavor, and roast. So, with that I became a barista at a local specialty coffee shop. I recently visited the Doppio page on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its lack of current, reliable citations, its improper grammar, and its lack of reference to the flavor variations of the doppio espresso shot.
Citations edit
The article only has one single citation, and if that is not bad enough, the citation is linked to the “WayBack Machine” page, an archive for lost or old web pages. The citation in the article itself is not clear as to what it is citing. There is such a vast amount of information all over the internet that could be used for citations in this article such as this.
Grammar edit
Despite being a fairly short article, it has a few grammar mistakes such as in the line “Doppio is Italian multiplier…” the word “an” should be added before “Italian”. Other improper grammar makes this article seem less reliable to the reader along with the bad citation. The article could use some proofreading.
Flavor Variations edit
The world of espresso is so vast, I feel that this article doesn’t even give a glimpse of what it has the potential to. Adding a section about the different types of beans, flavor variations, factors that play a part in affecting the flavor of the shot, and even a photo of the coffee flavor wheel would do this article a great justice.
Summary edit
I would say that this article needs great improvement. The page cites only one source that is not even reliable, as well as being attached to a whole sentence, not one specific piece of information. The grammar on the page is less than satisfactory. It could use editing and proofreading to improve the information. Lastly, I feel as though the article left out so much information pertaining to the subject. If information about the variations of flavor in espresso, or even a link the that information was added, the reader would leave satisfied from all they have just learned about the Doppio espresso shot.
