Hello, I am a reference and instructional librarian for the engineering, computer science, and mathematics departments for a large public university in the United States. I am now leading my fourth training session with a group of students and faculty who are interested in increasing the visibility and discoverability of women in STEM fields and women in the visual arts within Wikipedia.
I honestly can't believe it took me this long to start editing on Wikipedia. Somehow, I finished my MLIS without ever doing a Wikimedia project of any kind! Since then, I have always worked at small institutions where I was either a solo librarian or a lone arranger. So I am very excited that in my new position it is possible for me to branch out and work on interesting new projects like this with my students!
