Background

edit

My name is Faith and I am a sophomore at Marquette University. I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, which is a smaller city located 30 miles southwest of Green Bay. I am a psychology major, but I am still unsure of my career path. Right now I am interested in clinical neuropsychology and possibly working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), such as Down Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Appleton has a population of about 75,000.

During the summer, I spend time with my extended family on Boundary Lake in Northern Wisconsin. It is a very small lake, but my great grandfather built a cottage on the shore in the 1950's. Therefore, the sentimental value is priceless. This past year I picked up the habit of running. Although I never considered myself much of a runner, it is rewarding to see the cardiovascular improvements and set new goals. I also really enjoy annoying my friends with fun facts about psychology, a topic I could talk hours about. When I am not rambling on about the mind and behavior, you can find me watching How I Met Your Mother or eating buckets of berries and Mac n'cheese.

On campus I work as a tutor in Coughlin Hall. This semester I am tutoring psychology statistics, high school biology, and high school algebra. When I return to my hometown during break, I work through a program at Goodwill Industries as a job coach for those with IDD.
