Outapi Town
editOutapi is a town that is located in the Region called Omusati in the Northern part of Namibia and it is regarded as the capital town for this region because of its immerse population and size in the Region.It is also commonly known as Ombalantu by the local people who live there.The local people living there are mostly Aawambo especially the Mbalantu tribe and the language spoken there is mostly Oshiwambo.
There are a lot of great features in this town including the famous Omukwa (Baobob tree) that has a huge hollow trunk that mostly attracts the tourists and the local people to visit.This tree has a long dating background since it was used as an army base for the colonial apartheid regime in the past which was the South African Army.
Outapi has a rapid growth in size and development due to the construction of new government buildings,schools,hospitals and even the newly Natis office that was build there near the Town Council that shows a huge development of the town. It is a fast growing town with a lot of complex and stores such as such as the TONA complex,Yellow complex,Pep stores,Shoprite and many more.In many of these complex you will find a lot of businesses such as the Multisave Supermarket,FNB bank,Windhoek bank and many other businesses.
Outapi also have a state Hospital known as Okamhaku State Hospital which is one the most leading health care center in the region. This Hospital is a huge hospital and its located almost on the near road of going to Tsandi.The town also have a lot of schools including David Sheehama Secondary School,Special School and many more.There are also a lot of houses build in Outapi since there are a lot of people living there.
In Outapi there are also a lot of open markets including the one at Onhimbu location which is one of the dirtiest location in the town and the other one is located opposite the Town Council on the other side of the tar road.This helps the local people to make income for survival through selling local products such as fat cakes,maize meal,beans,berries and so on.
The town is rapidly growing in size and population mainly because of the higher employment opportunities in the town and also by the fact that the town has a lot of good resources such as the leiusure centers,public library and so on.
In conclusion Outapi town is also seen as one of the best growing town in the country due to its immerse growth and the higher rate of development that the town is progressively achieving mainly to achieve the Vision 2030.
