Munshi Raghunandan Das Sakhwar is the native place of Munshi Raghunandan Das and his younger brothers Harinandan Das, Sukdev Das and Vasudev Das. Munshi Raghunandan Das was a great literary figure and scholar of his age. He was the author of the first epic of Maithili literature, known as "The Subhadraharan" in addition to many other literary works. His younger brother Harinandan Das was a great advocate of his time and was the first Chairman of Darbhanga District Board. The family had a close link with the scholars of that age like Mahamahopadhyay Dr. Sir Ganganath Jha of Sarisab Pahi. Narendra Nath Das, the third son of Munshiji was a great scholar and freedom fighter. He was elected as MLA of the first legislative assembly election from Manigachhi constituency and authored a book "Vidyapati Kavyalok". The preface of this book was written by the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore himself. The book was the refernce book for students of Hindi literature who pursued their studies with specialization on Vidyapati in Lucknow and Allahabad Universities.
