Government tiesEdit

Turkuvaz Media Group and its media outlets has close ties to AKP, ruling party in Turkey.[5][6] It has been described as "Pelikanist". The media group published fake news during 2019 Istanbul Mayoral Election.[7] It has been discovered that Turkuvaz Group owned %18.37 of the public resources distributed through formal advertising.[8] Media outlets of the group were funded with 15 million TL between 2017 to 2019 by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.[9] Independency and freedom of Turkuvaz Media Group has been criticised due to them joining public contracts and having a commercial relationship with the state.[10][1]

ControveriesEdit

Turkuvaz Media Group charged Berna Laçin, a Turkish actress whose theatre plays were banned by the provincial governorships, with "being a headscarf advesary", "having a provacative character", and "insulting Medina". Laçin announced that she will file a criminal complaint about this issue.[11]

It was claimed in an ATV-A Haber mutual broadcast that cheats codes of the game GTA IV written on a paper sheet were "coup instructions".[12]

Turkish mafia leader Sedat Peker stated that Turkuvaz Media Group was a part of operations conducted against him.[13]
