Theodorus (prefect of Egypt)

Theodorus (Latin: Theodorus, Greek: Θεόδωρος, also rendered in English as Theodore; fl. 7th century), was a Byzantine military commander who briefly served as the prefect of Egypt from 641 to 17 September 642, during the Arab conquest of Egypt.

Biography

John of Nikiû mentions that Theodore had family members living in Saûnâ, which Hermann Zotenberg identifies with Sais.[1]
