History edit

RFD-TV's The American Rodeo, often simply called "The American," first premiered in 2014. The event, organized and broadcast by the Rural Media Group's RFD-TV network, features a range of standard rodeo events with professional competitors from across the nation.

The American Rodeo has a prize pool often exceeding $1 million. This prize is divided among the winners of the various events. In addition, The American Rodeo is accessible to both amateur competitors and professionals.

The event is generally held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The event celebrates the traditions of the American West through its competitive events, music, and culture, all within the context of a modern sporting event.[citation needed]

Current day rodeo edit
