Old edit

Is there any chance someone could add link to the main star trek portal page here? Just it would make it easier to navigate the portal. Tenchi Muyo 17:24, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image edit

I added the Enterprise as the image of the template. The ships name was a result of the series Star Trek. Image is PD. --Cat out 03:42, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

The shuttle may be named arter the ship from the show, but other then that has nothing to do with Star Trek. We need an image that is more assoicated with Trek, perhaps the original Enterprise or the Starfleet logo. --Captain Proton 11:41, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
I agree. The space shuttle image is completely inappropriate in this instance and needs to be changed. I have been bold and reverted it pending the addition of a proper image. 23skidoo 16:15, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Per the above I replaced the shuttle image with one of the UFP flag. It isn't the best substitution -- personally I'd prefer a Star Trek title logo or the Starfleet shield -- but it'll do for the time being so that the banner has an image. 23skidoo 16:24, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'd rather have no image than the image of the shuttle. I cannot see how the UFP flag (or any other Star Trek symbol is any less fair use than the items being used to illustrate the WikiProject banners for Stargate, Doctor Who and many others. Unless you're willing to add a paragraph to the banner explaining why there's an image of the shuttle there, it just looks stupid. Best to go with no image at all until people sort this out. 23skidoo 20:58, 8 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

You know, I'd go for the image that's on the article Vulcan salute... --Geopgeop 17:00, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

gap edit

While placing this on talk pages during a bit of an assessment run, I noticed a gap between this template and any template below which it is placed. Since I'm not familiar with this particular template language, can someone take a look and see if this is in the template and correctable? Thanks. ZueJay (talk) 17:13, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I noticed the same thing happening. I think it also puts a space above itself as well. Since the template uses {{WPBannerMeta}}, I don't know how much we can change regarding placement and line-breaks. I'll take a look, and if I can't find the solution, I'll ask on the WPBannerMeta talk page. — OranL (talk) 22:36, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Looks like that did it. Great! ZueJay (talk) 22:49, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Okay, that should have fixed it. I had left a line-break between the end of a <noinclude> tag and the beginning of the template, which caused the line break to be transcluded at the top of the template (which caused the gap). I moved that template down near the documentation, and it seems to be working. Let me know if you see any other problems! — OranL (talk) 22:52, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Will do. ZueJay (talk) 23:01, 10 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
