Documentation edit

{{WikiProject Freemasonry
 |class = FA
          A
          GA
          B
          C
          Start
          Stub
          NA
          Template (=unrated)
          (blank=unrated)

Template leaving extra line space at end edit

This is especially noticeable when the banner is nested. Could somebody please take a look at this? Thanks. Stevie is the man! TalkWork 14:35, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Expanded parameters? edit

Any objection to implementing expanded parameters? If not, I'll set them up. It would provide better visibility into the maintenance and navigation pages of the project.--Doug.(talk contribs) 10:28, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

AWB's templating plugin wants the both the attention= and the needs-infobox= parameters. The first one appears to be there, at least for this template (I have not checked "tl|Freemasonry2". Any objection to adding the needs-infobox= parameter? (and I would suggest Doug do it as I'd prolly screw it up). Thanks. RiverStyx23{submarinetarget} 02:53, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Links edit

Something is wrong with the link, possibly from this line: |ASSESSMENT_LINK = Wikipedia:WikiProject Freemasonry#Article assessment

Instead of going to #Article assessment it points to #Article assessment.23Quality_scale (or #Article assessment.23Importance_scale).

I dunno how to fix it or I would.

  • This template is based on other templates which have more templates nested inside them. The template {{WPBannerMeta}} is not just a model for this template, all of its code is sucked into this one. The line |ASSESSMENT_LINK = Wikipedia:WikiProject Freemasonry#Article assessment is incorporating the lines
|ASSESSMENT_LINK     = {{#switch:{{{ASSESSMENT_LINK|}}}
  |<!--NULL--> = {{#ifexist:{{#if:{{{PROJECT_LINK|}}}
      |{{{PROJECT_LINK}}}
      |Wikipedia:WikiProject {{{PROJECT}}}
    }}/Assessment
    |{{#if:{{{PROJECT_LINK|}}}
      |{{{PROJECT_LINK}}}
      |Wikipedia:WikiProject {{{PROJECT}}}
    }}/Assessment

This is intended to link to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Freemasonry/Assessment. If we don't want to link there, we should set the parameters to "no" per Template:WPBannerMeta#Assessment.--Doug.(talk contribs) 16:37, 1 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

We do want to link there - it's just not working for some reason. It just links to the top of the page, not the section. RiverStyx23{submarinetarget} 18:53, 1 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's because the link is set to Wikipedia:WikiProject Freemasonry#Article assessment and the template adds '/Assessment', there is no such section '#Article assessment/Assessment' so it goes to the top of the page. It's intended for you to put 'Wikipedia:WikiProject Freemasonry' without a section heading and it will then link to Wikipedia:WikiProject Freemasonry/Assessment as that's sort of the standard place to put that information. If you put nothing in place of the link it will go there automatically. If you don't want it to link to that page, you don't put that link under the parameter, you instead put 'no' in which case it will link to Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment. See Template:WPBannerMeta/Assessment link for details. This template is not designed to link to a section within a page and it would be a bit complicated to do it, if it could be done without creating a new template (bad idea). Either move the assessment section to the subpage or use the 1.0 standard assessment page.

  • I've set it to = no, that's an improvement but if you don't like that you can move the information from the main project page to the /Assessment subpage and remove the parameter altogether, it should then default to our /Assessment page.--Doug.(talk contribs) 02:49, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
