Categorisation
editThat's the whole point. The template is placed at the top of the category which it populates; which is useful if, for instance, either template or category are ever taken to XfD. And the |category= parameter is more popular and widely-used than |nocat=1 - I was giving people the opportunity to use either. Certainly there's no reason not to include either one.
